Unwrap the beer
Bacchus Flemish Old Brown is an inviting Flemish reddish-brown beer offering aromas of roasted malts, roasted chestnuts, caramel, toffee and dried fruit. With the first sip, you are met with a subtle sweetness that is quickly offset by a refreshing acidity. The winey notes and dry finish keep things beautifully balanced without disturbing the beer’s eminently drinkable qualities.
Appearance
A dark reddish-brown beer with a long-lasting beige head.
Aroma
The aroma is inviting, with notes of roast chestnuts and caramel combining to create a roasty maltiness, complemented by notes of toffee and dried fruits.
Taste
On the first sip, the candy syrup-like sweetness is quickly balanced out by a fresh acidity. The slight malty bitterness, coupled with the winey notes, ensure that the sweetness and acidity remain perfectly balanced, without compromising on drinkability. Last but not least, the dry finish is reminiscent of Basque cider.
Authentic Flemish beer, partly matured in oak barrels, offering pleasant wine notes.
