Kasteel becomes main sponsor of Mandel United

Mandel United is proud to announce a new strategic partnership. Starting next season, Kasteel will become the football club’s new main sponsor. Global sportswear brand Macron, distributed by Well Dressed as an exclusive partner, will supply the official club kit for the coming years, with Kasteel prominently featured on the match day shirts.
For both parties, this is more than just a commercial agreement. It is a symbol of trust, vision and the conviction that Central West Flanders deserves a successful professional football club.

A long-awaited return
With Kasteel as the main sponsor, Xavier Vanhonsebrouck is returning to the club he once helped establish through the merger of Ingelmunster and KFC Izegem. “My entrepreneurial spirit and passion for football are still rooted in the Mandel region. That is why I will also be working behind the scenes to help shape Mandel United’s commercial and sporting strategy.”
Chairman Frederick Verhelst emphasises that Xavier’s return goes far beyond a mere sponsorship deal: “This is not sponsorship. This is commitment. The fact that someone like Xavier is not only coming on board as a main sponsor, but also wants to take on responsibility for supporting me and the club… that says it all.”
Sporting and structural breakthroughs
With more than 700 members, a youth programme that has achieved the maximum Footpass rating of 4 stars, a thriving G-football programme with over 90 players, and a women’s team on the verge of promotion, Mandel United finds itself in a stronger position than ever. And making this all a reality is a large, dedicated team of coaches and volunteers.
These ambitions have also been reflected on the pitch, with the club on course to win the league and potentially be crowned champions for the second year running. What’s more, the club has also received good news from the licensing committee this week, having been granted a national amateur division license. This is a crucial step towards promotion.
A region crying out for a big club
The club’s management is convinced that there is scope in Central West Flanders for an ambitious, professionally run football club. “With entrepreneurs from the region joining forces, and with having the right people in the right positions, we are laying the foundations for a sustainable future for Mandel United, a club that is truly close to my heart”, adds Xavier.
“While we are proud of what we have achieved so far, we are not there yet. We have our sights set even higher. With the people sitting around this table today, and with Kasteel as our main sponsor, it is my firm belief that we will realise that ambition”, Frederick concludes.
