Beer with a cocktail twist

The world of cocktails is constantly evolving, with a clear trend towards creative concoctions that have beer featuring as the main ingredient. Together with leading bartenders and mixologists Ran Van Ongevalle and Hannes Desmedt, we at Kasteel are building a unique bridge between the beer and cocktail scenes.

Every strong fruit beer in our range serves as the perfect base for cocktails, offering recognisable, accessible flavours. For our first cocktail beer, we chose Kasteel Tropical, infused with almonds and lime. With Kasteel Tropical Twist, we are introducing a unique concept, creating new drinking experiences for a wide audience.

So why are we talking about a cocktail beer, rather than a beer cocktail? A beer cocktail is made by mixing beer with spirits and liqueurs, amongst other things. We’ve gone a step further, brewing our cocktail beer from scratch. Brewed, not shaken – beer with a cocktail twist.

Serve with a wedge of lime

Kasteel Tropical Twist is brewed using Kasteel Tropical as a base, infused with hints of almond and a refreshing touch of lime. The flavour profile takes on a playful twist, with mango, passion fruit, peach and pineapple blending harmoniously with subtle notes of amaretto. The finish is full-bodied and refreshingly tropical, making this cocktail beer exceptionally easy-drinking.

The balance of flavours is spot on – every time you put your glass down, you’ll immediately find yourself longing for another sip.

Our cocktail beer is ready to drink right away. No mixing, shaking or measuring required. Simply pour into an ice-filled glass, add a fresh wedge of lime, and in a matter of seconds you’ll have a perfectly balanced, summery cocktail on your hands.

With Kasteel Tropical Twist, we are not just launching our first cocktail beer – we are introducing a whole new taste experience. One that pushes the boundaries of the beer landscape, while at the same time creating new opportunities for the hospitality industry, events and festivals.

As an independent family-run brewery, innovation has always been one of our driving forces, striking a strong balance between tradition and new ideas. Since the launch of Kasteel Donker in 1991, and later Kasteel Rouge in 2007 – the first strong fruit beer and the start of a whole new segment – our Kasteel brand has transformed the beer landscape several times over.

This innovative approach continues to this day, with new flavours such as Kasteel Rubus Framboise and Kasteel Tropical, as well as our zero-alcohol range. Now, our passion for innovation has led us to the world of cocktails – a world of creativity, sophistication and taste.

And we will not be stopping at just one cocktail beer, that much is for certain. Our recipes for other such creations – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic – are just waiting to be brewed.
