The Kasteel beers have inspired the innovative degustation beers that go under the name of ‘by Kasteel’. Cuvée du Château has all the elements of a bottle-aged Kasteel Donker, using exactly the same ingredients and without any additives. The result is a young beer with the full – madeirised – aromas and flavours of a mature Kasteel Donker. The brewer had been searching for a refined madeirisation with a certain degree of oxidation to develop fruity aromas adding to the flavours of sherry and port and touches of caramelised and roast malt and bread, without increasing the alcohol content.
Trignac XII is the successful marriage between Kasteel Tripel and cognac. To produce this ‘limited edition’, the brewer allowed the tripel to mature in recycled cognac barrels. Trignac XII is a full-mouthed degustation beer that yields the sweet aroma of grapes and subtle hints of wine that, on the tongue, take on cognac aromas. The alcohol completely fills the mouth and provides a deliciously warm feeling that lingers for a while.
Barista Chocolate Quad unites the worlds of coffee and beer. The roast and burnt malts come to the fore, accompanied by chocolate malts, pale ale malts, pils malts, coffee and cocoa powder. The beer has a dominant flavour and aroma of caramel, toffee and chocolate with the warm glow of alcohol simmering in the background.
